빛이 드는 한 켠에 온갖 종류의 간판들이 빼곡한 상가들이 늘어서 있고, 건너편엔 사뭇 다른 분위기의 어둡고 칙칙한 건물 공사장이 보인다. 어디론가 사람들은 무심코 바쁘게 오가고 있다. 밝게 빛나는 태양아래 형형색색 상가의 간판들이 무거운 한쪽 분위기를 놀리기라도 하는 듯 너나없이 무어라고 재잘거리고, 햇살은 화살처럼 공사장 아래 어두운 그림자 틈새를 파고들며 더 이상 음습한 기운이 뻗히지 못하도록 자꾸만 날아온다.어느덧 건설현장 저 너머에 우렁찬 망치소리인가? 거리에는 타악(打樂)이 울려 나와 공사장 천막도 타악에 맞춰 진동하고 사람들 심장박동도 따라서 함께 쿵쾅쿵쾅, 리듬 따라 발걸음도 씩씩하고 명랑해진다. 빛과 그림자, 재잘거림과 둔탁한 리듬, 고음과 저음이 어우러진 멋진 오케스트라 연주처럼 시장 통 하루가 활기차게 흘러간다.
<Market street 1 (Shop road along the Construction Site)> there is a shopping street full of signboards in daylight, and a construction site with a different atmosphere on the other side. People look busy coming and going.Under the bright sunlight, it seems like the signboards of the shops are chattering away with each other, while the sunlight contrasts with the dark shadow over the construction site as it penetrates into the cracks of the shadow. The chattering of cheerful colors calls our attention to the sonorous hammering sound coming from the construction site, and arouses our senses to the rhythmical steps of people walking by. A day of market street is flowing like an orchestra accompanied by light, shadow, jabber and rhythm, treble and bass.
